Bearing assembly
The Low friction ceramic/bronze bearing (Made in Germany)
is adjusted vertically to make minimal contact with the stainless steel thrust ball at the base of the bearing well to insure that a path to mechanical ground is provided.

Platter Material
CNC Aluminum 20kg 128mm (5.06”) thick hardcoat Anodized to increase its hardness, density, abrasion resistance and overall dampening abilities.

SC-30 Speed Controller with GRS System
The T-30, T-60 and T-90 comes standard with the SC-30 Speed Controller with adjustable speed GRS System (Generate Rotate, Synchronize) which is a combination of clean regenerated power and precise measurement of the platters revolutions. Together the non-fluctuating power generated by the speed controller and the optical measurement system on the platter locks the precise speed and provides consistent rotation free from fluctuating wall power

Suspension
The Chassis is mounted on 3 adjustable magnetically suspended, resonance damping feet which, combined with the layered construction of the plinth, serve to eliminate external vibrations.

Motors
Dual AC synchronous motors (T-30, T-60 and T-90) (custom made in the Czech Republic), each housed in its own massive aluminum, vibration damping, casing are provided. Each low resonance acrylic pulley (x2) drives 3 low tension silicon belts that provide speed stability, adequate start up torque and filter out any residual motor vibration

Armboards available
Two arm boards are provided as standard: one for Rega & Origin Live tonearms and one for SME tonearms. The Rega mount can be adjusted to accommodate arms from 210mm to 230mm in length and has a Slow Pitch VTA adjustment capability which can be easily extended up to 20-25mm by hand. Blank armboards are available as required. US Importer  can custom machine blank armboards to match requirements on request.

Plinth Materials
consists of two 1/8" (.125") brushed anodized aluminum and 3/4" (.75") black acrylic. The benefit of this design is in its increased damping, dissipation and anti- vibration abilities. The aluminum plates are also slow-baked to increase rigidity and resistance from scratching. All black versions are available at extra cost.

Confessions of a Part Time Audiophile  by Panagiotis Karavitas

"Analog Bliss"

"Over the last month and a half, the Hanss T-30 equipped with the UNV-2 tonearm kept me company, and it was a true joy to listen and to look at. Definitely a well-engineered turntable and a high value for money."

Stereophile By Art Dudley

The tonearm used for this review was an Entry Level Rega 300, better Arms will yield better results!

Large-scale classical music fared best with the Hanss. The opening of Beethoven's Symphony 4, performed by Pierre Monteux and the London Symphony Orchestra (LP, Victrola/Classic VICS 1102), had the right amount of tension, with richly good colors and textures in all instrumental sections

Certain pop LPs sounded equally dramatic, especially good live recordings, such as Neil Young's Time Fades Away (LP, Reprise MS 2151) and Fairport Convention's House Full: Live at the LA Troubadour (LP, Hannibal HNBL 1319). The instrumental break following Dave Swarbrick's drily sung "Grant me one small relief," in House Full's "Banks of the Sweet Primroses," was appropriately louder and more forceful than the preceding line: a nice touch missed by so many source components.

So I was doubly surprised that the Hanss T-30, which I used during the latter half of summer 2009, was supremely immune to footfalls. Normal foot travel never—and I mean never—displaced the stylus, or created even an untoward noise. Jumping up and down on the floor next to the rack made itself known as only a small and temporary variation in speed: a bit of warble, for want of a better word. The only way I could get the needle away from the groove was to lift the tonearm. Read into that what you will. I was impressed.

Happily, the Hanss T-30 played music well, too, with a consistently big sound: good scale and exceptional bass weight. Better still, it performed acceptably well at something I consider crucial to musical involvement: With the Hanss T-30, recorded music had at least some sense of momentum, of pull. There are record players that deliver even more of that quality—mostly ones with decidedly high-torque motors, I've found—but the Hanss T-30 was better than a lot of the contemporary belt-drive models I've heard.

Tech Radar review

The platter's bearing that you can see if you look at the turntable side on, also has magnetic suspension, which is a little unusual, but something of a necessity when you have such a high-mass platter. In practice, the T-30 feels and looks like an unsuspended design and has the same sensitivity to footfall.

Added value
To my knowledge, no-one offers this much turntable for this sort of money – there isn't even a model that will accept two tonearms in this ballpark. Fortunately, for the competition, there's more to record playing than extra armbases and mass.

The Sound
With an SME V tonearm and van den Hul Condor XCM cartridge installed, and the output fed to Trichord's venerable Delphini phono stage, the Hanss delivers an extremely stable and powerful result that makes for powerful, full-blooded sound.

This is typical of high-mass designs, but most models do not have two motors. it's impossible to say what the second motor brings to the sound because one is not enough to keep the platter spinning. The most likely effect is to underpin the unflappable quality already produced by the platter.

It doesn't draw your attention to qualities like timing but a rhythmically tricky piece like the Keith Jarrett trio's Scrapple for the Apple came across in remarkably engaging and coherent form, which suggests that it's not too shabby in this department. I even enjoyed the double bass solo and that's saying something

"A new benchmark for musical communication, natural detail and timbral truth. All at a price that, considering the quality of its performance, can only be called a bargain."

- Stereo Times Magazine full review

"One of the truly special products I’ve reviewed in the past 18 years....Overall the Encounter’s look, feel and fit’n finish are exceptionally high for it’s modest price of $1495"

- Stereophile full review

" It says volumes for the excellence of this arm that it could put two such different pickups through their paces so even-handedly."

- The Absolute Sound Magazine - Editors Choice Award 2012

Performance:
The Encounter arm builds on the outstanding performance of the Silver by improving the design and quality of all components. This is not just a development - it is a complete redesign.

The entire yoke and base are different from the Silver tonearm. These structures, contain the horizontal and vertical bearings and are therefore highly influential on sound quality. The upgrade in design manifests itself in outstanding deep bass along with increased focus, stability and resolution through all frequencies. The tight and powerful bass carries the hallmark of authority and adds so much to the musical experience. In addition the arm dramatically improves the great transparency, tonal balance and sound-staging of the Silver arm. It produces a wonderful "live" feel to the music, with fabulous transient speed and "air". The Encounter arm is outstanding.

Features:
The design philosophy and many components in the Onyx are derived from the legendary Silver tonearm.

• High grade aircraft alloy, single piece armtube.

•Well specified and highly robust bearings. These bearings are housed in an advanced yoke which includes highly developed decoupling techniques.

• High grade Internal Litz wire and standard external cable with RCA plugs to fit into your amplification.

• Integral VTA adjustment.

• Fits ALL Rega armboard cut outs whether old style threaded base or new 3 point mounting.

ILLUSTRIOUS MK3c - $2950.

"The best tonearm I've heard to date ....brilliantly detailed yet utterly musical, this arm is set to join the ranks of the all time greats. Wholeheartedly recommended..."

- David Price- HiFi World full review

"...and the winner is... the Origin Live Illustrious, a pick up arm that is quite simply breathtaking."

- Albert Lee - Hi-Fi World (Group comparison test of 7 tonearms) full review

Performance
Ground-breaking design is behind the astonishing performance of the Illustrious arm. This award winning arm has been highly acclaimed as a true performance leader. The outstanding features that yield this are similar to the Encounter and are listed as follows.

Features
• Hybrid arm tube composed of 5 materials has better energy dissapating qualities and higher rigidity than the Encounter, yielding increased transparency, dynamics and bass performance.

• Ultra low friction dual pivot bearings yield vastly increased clarity and sweet, precise treble free from smearing.

• Floating vertical bearings decouple the armtube from the deck and prevents it adding color to the sound.

• High strength aircraft alloy headshell for increased dynamics.

• High grade internal Litz cable with Pure copper bullet plugs on upgrade external cable for reduced signal degradation.
ILLUSTRIOUS TONEARM - brilliant performance

CONQUEROR MK3C - $4450.

Review Comments

suffice to say that this is one of the very best tonearms yet made by anybody, and more importantly, it’s not voiced in a madcap, no-compromise way that prohibits it from pleasing only some of the people some of the time. Rather, the Conqueror is an immensely useable, versatile, real world tool that works brilliantly no matter what program material you use or which partnering equipment. The best praise of all is to say that it’s a truly ‘fit it and forget’ design – whatever you play, it just dissolves away...

VERDICT
Arguably the very best tonearm yet made – a startlingly capable all rounder with none of the vices or quirks of rival super-arms.

- HiFi World full review

Performance
The Conqueror arm design is simply light years ahead of it’s time. Incorporating idealistic principles translated into engineering practice, the arm delivers a level of performance that is absolutely extraordinary.

Most noticeable is the increase in presence, clarity and focus. Bass is even more defined and rock solid than the superlative Illustrious. Vocals take on total realism and freedom from any confusion. Imaging is also noticeably better than the lower arms in the range. Why is the arm so good? Not only are the highly successful features of the Illustrious present but a number of new ideas are included that add a great deal to the performance.

Features

Hybrid arm tube composed of 5 materials has better energy dissipating qualities and higher rigidity than the Illustrious tube, yielding increased transparency, dynamics and bass performance

Ultra low friction dual pivot bearings yield vastly increased clarity and sweet, precise treble free from smearing.

Floating vertical bearings decouple the armtube from the deck and prevent it adding color to the sound.

High strength aircraft alloy headshell for increased dynamics

External Linear Flow 2 arm cable, fully balanced and 95% shielded is up with the very best of expensive external cables at 3 times the price and delivers improvements to every aspect of the sound.

Pure copper WBT nextgen RCA phono plugs are among of the highest quality available to provide a precise, tight electrical connection that eliminates signal degradation.

ENTERPRISE C - $7500.

"Overall, this is a superb pick up arm with a grippingly musical sound and lovely rhythmic ability. It has wonderful tonal shading (an SME SeriesV sounds monochrome, by comparison) and deep soundstaging with masses of detail .......overall it's an exceptional performer — one which offers a brilliant mix of tonality and rhythmic grip."

"Improved harmonics and tonality were obvious almost right out of the gate. The ambiance that filled my dining room caused an immediate stir of emotions.... the enhanced tonal shadings produced by this combo made me sit up and pay close attention immediately. The pace, rhythm and timing (PRaT) were stunningly present ....You could have knocked me over with a feather." Editor Stereo Times - Read Full Review - (Product of the Year Award)

"I suppose, you could say you are just so bowled over by the music, that the rest is simply "in the noise level". But it's weird - THIS is the absolute sound, or what the records are supposed to be communicating, and suddenly, it's completely natural and easy to listen to."

Performance
It is now possible to achieve a level of performance that at least one reviewer did not think was possible from a tonearm upgrade ( and he had one of the best arms in the world). Packed with radical new thinking and technological advances, the Enterprise-C significantly elevates tonearm performance to undreamed of levels.

The most obvious aspects of this arm are it's sheer speed and realism that approaches that of live music. The tightness and depth of bass are a revelation and will expose your records in a totally new light. The reviews elaborate on how this arm is capable of everything you could ever want from one of the most rewarding items in the replay chain.

Features

Hybrid arm tube composed of 6 materials has better energy dissipating qualities and higher rigidity than the Conqueror tube, yielding increased transparency, dynamics and bass performance

Ultra low friction dual pivot bearings yield vastly increased clarity and sweet, precise treble free from smearing.

Floating vertical bearings This decouples the armtube from the deck and prevents the deck adding color to the sound.

Sophisticated dual pivot decoupling The dual pivots in the Enterprise incorporate several additional layers of isolation from the vertical bearings - this yields very low levels of coloration and increases clarity.

High strength aircraft alloy headshell for increased dynamics

Internal Linear flow 2 cable for very low signal loss resulting in improvements to every aspect of the music

External Linear Flow 2 arm cable, fully balanced and 95% shielded This is up with the very best of expensive external cables and yields the same improvements as the internal linear flow 2 cable.

Pure copper WBT nextgen RCA phono plugs are among the best available to provide a precise, tight electrical connection that ensures no signal degradation.
